Our Story

In 2021, our lives changed forever when we lost our beloved son, Dewi, to suicide. In the midst of unimaginable grief, our family made a commitment to honour his memory by creating something positive from our loss. We wanted to help ensure that no one facing mental health challenges would feel alone or without support.

From that commitment, Dewi Mind Health Matters C.I.C. (4 Dewi) was established. Inspired by the spirit of #DoItForDewi, the organisation was created with a clear purpose: to make a meaningful difference within our community. Everything we do is driven by a desire to support others, raise awareness, and provide opportunities for connection, hope, and wellbeing.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen the resilience, wellbeing, and connectedness of our local communities across South Wales. As a Community Interest Company, we are dedicated to promoting positive mental health, reducing isolation, and supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges.

We believe that by bringing people together, encouraging open conversations, and providing accessible support, we can help build stronger, healthier, and more compassionate communities where no one has to face their struggles alone.

A Community Coming Together

Our Story and Mission

4 Dewi was founded on a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves hope, understanding, and access to support when they need it most.

Driven by our commitment to improving mental wellbeing within our communities, we provide practical assistance, compassionate support, and access to resources that help individuals and families build resilience and maintain positive mental health.

Through connection, awareness, and community action, we strive to create a future where no one feels alone in their struggles and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Impact in Numbers

Over the past year, your support has helped us reach hundreds of individuals, raise vital awareness of mental health helplines, and deliver events that connect people directly with tailored, life-changing support.

Every donation we receive goes straight back into our community. As a charity with no government funding, we rely entirely on the generosity of our fundraisers and supporters. Each pound raised helps us provide safe spaces, practical resources, and compassionate support for those who need it most.

Your contribution doesn’t just fund a service—it helps change lives, strengthen resilience, and ensure that no one in our community has to face their struggles alone.
